Travel Insurance is available right now with our Backpackers (International) Plan . This Backpackers (International) Plan is good for the backpacker or traveller who wants reasonable levels of cover, including cover for their baggage should it get lost or stolen. This plan is provided at competitive rates for travellers or backpackers 65 years of age or under travelling abroad and is most popular with young travellers going overseas on a working holiday.

This well priced Travel Insurance product is underwritten by Allianz Australia Insurance Limited (Allianz) and provides a good level of cover for the budget traveller and, as with all policies we sell, you are automatically covered for many sport and leisure activities, such as bungee jumping, scuba diving and white water rafting, often not available with this type of backpacker insurance, for no additional premium.

You could travel the world (excluding USA, Hawaii, Canada, South America & Japan) for a full 12 months, with good cover for as little as $527.55.

The following "Additional Options " can be purchased

  • Increased Luggage & Personal Effects cover - Up to an additional $5,000 cover can be purchased for specified items (excluding jewellery) by paying an additional premium - receipts and/or valuations need to be provided. There is a $3,000 item limit for personal computers, video cameras and cameras, $1,000 each item for mobile phones (including PDAs and any items with phone capabilities) and a $750 item limit for all other items up to a total value of $5,000.
  • Removal of Standard Excess - You can remove the standard $100 Excess on Plans A, C, D, E, F, & G by paying an additional premium.
  • Rental Vehicle Excess Cover - Cover for reimbursement of the Rental Vehicle insurance Excess or the cost of repairing the vehicle, whichever is the lesser, if a vehicle you have rented from a rental company is involved in an accident while you are driving, or is damaged or stolen while in your custody.
    Rental Vehicle Excess Cover is covered as standard under Plans D & E. You can purchase $3,000 Rental Vehicle Excess Cover under Plans A, B, C, F, or G by paying an additional premium.
